Dan and Carol Cook

Family: In April 2023, Dan married Carol Clark, a long-time friend and fellow missionary. Both Dan and Carol had lost their spouses in 2021. The Cook’s expanded family continues to grow with the addition of several grandchildren since the Cook’s wedding.

Mission Agency: The Cooks are serving with ABWE. According to its website, “ABWE is a spiritually empowered family of servants committed to glorifying God by calling the nations to worship Him. We follow Christ’s command to make disciples among all the “ethne” (people groups) everywhere. As ambassadors for Christ representing our sending and supporting churches, we evangelize, make disciples, and train pastors and church leaders.”

Ministry Focus: The Cook’s ministry is in a period of transition. Carol coordinates language learning for new ABWE missionaries in Brazil. She also has a special place in her heart for ministering to Missionary Kids. Dan continues to serve as the Executive Director of Camp Paradise, but his role as Executive Director of Good Soil Brazil, a training tool for evangelism and discipleship, is diminishing, and a successor is being sought. This change of ministry allows Dan and Carol to join with a young team of Brazilian church planters to begin a new church, Igreja Batista Redenção (Redemption Baptist Church), on the northern side of Greater Recife.
